History of the artist

Temuri Givi Kuliani was born in 1959, in Tbilisi Georgia. Already from early childhood he showed an interested in art, movies and paintings. Close to his home there was an art gallery where he as a child was introduced to different artist and techniques.

Later on he started showing interest in both film and theater . He guest starred in different plays and puppet shows in front of smal and large crowds as a young boy.

He then started to study film at the VGIK film school in Moscow. He wanted to become a director. In his studies he made two films and a play. He graduated top of his class in 1993.

He moved to Norway in 1994 and continued his art studies. At this time he started painting professionally and got inspiration from naive and postimpressionism painters, like Modigliani.

He later started to mix cubism and naive style and found his unique style – the Kuliani style.

In 2012 he went back to Georgia and started his own gallery and work studio in Tbilisi. A very special gallery close to the oldest church in Tbilisi.
